Examination of HO P2K NP SW1200 Engine Part I

An extensive examination of a P2K NP SW1200 switcher has been posted here:

This engine was chosen, because it is part of my collection and serves as a format setter for this kind of post. It is a part 1 as received examination. This is the base line and there are planned to be a several parts of this study. The objective is to define what features impact the performance and over what ranges. These parts are as follows:

part 2- consisting of a clean, lubricate and adjust activity. This was highlighted in discussions about the Grade & Train Length experiments On another forum. This has also been shown to have a good impact in previous studies.

part 3- will be to remove the P2K electronics and install a digital plug for installation of a digital modular later.

part 4- will be to vary the weights in three increments up to a 16+ ounce increase.

Additional options will be included as appropriate.

Thanks for reading. Come back often to see what we have learned.
